AI Stack Decision Memo Template
A short decision-memo template for writing up why your team chose, or did not choose, a specific AI stack.
When to use it: Use this after running the stack quiz or evaluating alternatives, to record the decision for future reference.
Context
- State the workflow, team size, budget, and privacy/security bar this decision is for.
- List the options considered, including "do nothing" or "wait."
Decision
- State the recommended stack: must-have tools, nice-to-have tools, and what to avoid for now.
- State the main tradeoff or risk being accepted.
- Note who approved the decision and when.
Rollout and review
- State the first rollout step and how success will be measured.
- Set a review date to revisit pricing, security posture, and whether the stack is still the right fit.
